    How to Use This

    Pick your media type

Choose movies, TV shows, books, or games at the top of the ranking panel. Each type has its own preset lists and genre filters so the comparison stays relevant to what you are actually ranking.

    Add titles you care about

Type a title into the add field and press Enter or click Add. You can also load a preset list to start with a set of well-known titles and then swap out the ones you do not care about. A shorter list of titles you feel strongly about will give you a more honest profile than a long list of things you barely remember.

    Drag to reorder

Grab any card by its handle and drag it up or down. The top of the list is your number one favorite. The bottom is the least favorite of the group. You can also use the arrow buttons on each card for keyboard-friendly reordering.

    Read your taste profile

The taste alignment score compares your order to common critic and audience tendencies for the genre you picked. A higher score means your order lines up with general opinion. A lower score means you lean more contrarian or eclectic. Neither is better. The score is meant to start a conversation, not end one.

    Check blind spots

The blind spot section shows titles that often appear in top lists for your genre but are not in your ranking. These are suggestions, not corrections. If something catches your eye, add it to your list and see how it fits.

    Save and share

Your list is saved in your browser automatically. You can also copy a share link that encodes your rankings in the URL, export your list as a text file, or copy a taste card summary to paste into a message or social post.

    Common Questions

Do I have to rank everything I have ever watched or read?

No. Rank whatever you feel strongly about. A focused list of 5 to 15 titles will give you a more meaningful profile than a long list padded with titles you barely remember.

What if my favorite is not in the consensus data?

That is completely fine. The comparison highlights general patterns, not a fixed canon. If your pick is not in the reference set, the profile will note that your taste runs independent for that slot.

Can I come back and update my rankings later?

Yes. Your list is saved in your browser. When you finish a new series or revisit an old favorite, open this page again and adjust your order. You can also export your list as a text file and re-import it later.

How is the taste alignment score calculated?

The score compares your ranking order to common critic and audience tendencies for the genre you picked. It looks at how many of your top picks overlap with common top lists and how closely your order matches. A score of 100 would mean your order matches the reference pattern exactly.

    Is my data sent anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Your rankings are saved locally and are never transmitted to a server. The share link encodes your list in the URL so you can send it to a friend without any backend.

    Assumptions and Limits

    • Consensus patterns are based on general critic and audience tendencies, not a live database.
    • Genre filters are approximate. A title might span multiple genres.
    • Saved lists live in your browser only. Clearing browser data will remove them.
    • This is a reflection tool, not a scoring system. Your taste is valid no matter what the alignment score says.
